Tim Kellgren has lived in Petaluma, California for over half of his life but grew up and attended school in Minnesota and lived in Illinois, Alaska, Australia, and spent extended time in various parts of Africa, together with a long career in ministry all these experiences contribute to the imagery found in his drawings, colorful abstract landscapes, and collages. Although mostly self taught, he also briefly studied drawing, painting, clay/pottery, lithography, and metal sculpture at Sonoma State university.

In the last 10 years Tim has finally been able to be more fully immersed in his passion for the creative process. After all, “the creative process is where our fun, challenge, joy, and passion engage the materials to create art. The finished art is only the  ‘residue’ of that process”. But of course the  “residue’ is also intended to delight and move others who enjoy the deep, vibrant colors and surprising use of unexpected materials in his paintings and collages.
