Award winning Painter Lise Temple has been highly influenced by the atmospheric light and vivid colors of her home in South Australia. Lise’s art practice encompasses a diverse range of subjects, mainly executed in oils and acrylics. She moves between degrees of abstraction, producing works of pure abstraction through to realism, and in-between. Lise is best known for her abstract landscapes, a series inspired by the color, contrasting light and broad shapes of agricultural landscapes. These paintings document the experience of viewing the landscape whilst moving through time. However her other abstract and realist works are an integral part of her process. The representational and abstract works feed into each other; in both, she attempts to capture the complexity of natural forms. The textures, color and patterns of nature constantly influence her work. Lise Temple is an award winning Australian artist that lives and works in a small town outside of Adelaide in Southern Australia. She has garnered numerous accolades for her work including the Watershed Art Price and Burnside Prize in 2013 alone. She was the 2007 winner of the Heysen Prize for Australian Landscape and the 2011 winner of the Clare Art Prize, Barossa Art Prize and a finalist at the Fleurieu Peninsula Bienalle. Australia
